I can't swallow this endangering others tripe. If these jokers want to ride around like idiots good for them, but they are going to be the ones that end up a greasy spot on the road similar to riders wearing nothing but cotton.
One might as well say that someone who commits suicide by gunshot is "endangering others" with stray bullets.

I have hit cars moving damn fast due to no fault of my own and as I was being placed in the ambulance the carbon blob that was behind the wheel is looking to see how big the scratches in his paintwork are. Poor thing.

I can vividly recall in my younger years waiting at the bus stop for school when some guy on a blue and yellow sportbike (I'll assume it was a gixxer based on the color) comes wheelieing down the residential street right next to us. A nice little wobble when he touched down right in front of us.

Seems to me that's endangering the dozen or so kids waiting around the bus stop. Especially considering he had trouble keeping it together.

Stunting in a public place is my idea of reckless endangerment. Doing more then 30kmh over the speed limit and not being on the highway while doing it is reckless to me as well. But that's a personal opinion.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I was driving down a 6 lane highway yesterday and saw two unknown sportsbikes doing wheelies at about 80mph. Foolish? Yeah...but they were in full gear and were in very light traffic.

It seems that the term squid is so general that just about everybody applies it differently.

yeah, im a squid!

i like going fast when traffic is not congested so eventhough that's not really so bad. im still breaking the law.

also, im also a squid since im on a high powered bike w/ not enough experience.

i do wear riding gear and i don't do stunts.

either way... i don't really care as long as i don't get into accidents or get traffic tickets.

What bothers me most about squidly behavior is getting called to account for it by non-riding friends and acquaintances. As if. Wish I had a buck for every time I've given the old "we don't all ride like that" speech. Stunting, etc. seems to be incredibly aggravating to the majority of the car driving public. Doesn't bother me so much, I figure do what you want, as long as you don't hit me or drop your bike right in front of me. But it gets old being called to defend my choices on the basis of something somebody saw somebody else do.....

SQUirrely kID or Stupid, Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

I've heard it said "squirlly kid" - rammed together - squid.

Usually means a rider who is inexperianced and rides carelessly and way beyond their ability. We make jokes sometimes about "squid gear" - flip flops, wife beater, and short - a passenger sometimes is seen with a tube top.

The discussion turned to that because the non-gear folks here don't get that much respect from the gear wearing folks. I wear gear myself, but to each his own, I say.
