I like the bike Verm posted, but yeah, it's not a cafe racer.
a GOLDWING cafe racer. thats kinda rediculous considering cafe racers are supposed to be nimble and light, not a fat bloated pig.

That goldwing is light as a feather compared to the latest 'wing!
Old BMW's (yeah here I go again!!) also make great Cafe projects, and also have a ton of aftermarket behind them.

Actually a stripped down goldwing can be surprisingly light, and if you kept that inline6 engine... it'd pull forever and a day.

yeah I would imagine that all those electronics and adjustable suspension and bodywork and rear seat and storage trunks would add a few hundred pounds. but then again why bother with a wing, just do up a valkarie, isnt it the same engine. I mean, did yall SEE the rune? (and they say the m109r is a big cruiser)

Probably because a Wing was what they had to work with.
You don't always get to choose what wrecked bike is in the garage. Or you don't always have access to the bike you want.

I think that Wing is the 4 cylinder model. Well before all the other stuff was added. The early Wings didn't even have a fairing or bags and were fairly fast for it's time.

The tnt is at the streetfighter end of the scale.
Over here streetfighters kind of grew out of caferacers... same kind of people, same kind of ethic, just different bikes to start from...

that enfield is sexy in an old cafe racer kind of way. I think the closest thing to a modern cafe racer would be that new Norton that is supposed to be coming out soon.

It's really just in the bars and the seat as far as looks go. you can always add go fast parts and suspension as you can afford it. If your looking for old look/new bike there are a few standards that would probably make great donor bikes.
