When you get better, you only need to do the one rev. I guess I didn't really have to think about doing this because my last car was a manual and I did that instinctively. I believe it is called "double clutching" though you don't go into neutral like in a manual. Even when I did this in my car, I never went into neutral just kept the clutch in.

Double clutching is different and can't be done with a bike transmission.

Rev matching is where you actuate the clutch, shift the transmission to the desired gear, adjust the throttle so that the engine is turning approximately the right RPM for the gear/road speed, and then release the clutch. The shift and throttle adjust can happen at the same time. That can be done on a bike.

Double clutching is where you actuate the clutch, shift into neutral, release the clutch, match the revs (which spins internal parts of the transmission up to the new speed), then actuate the clutch, shift into the new gear, and release the clutch. Obviously, that needs a neutral position. It is usually reserved for vehicles without synchromesh transmissions (old cars, trucks, and so on)... though it is a good performance driving technique as well.

Thanks for all of the responses, you guys give great advice. Unfortunately I can't try any of the techniques until tomorrow. I did'nt get a chance to play with my baby today. I did however get my new jacket , gloves, some oil and a new filter so I can change those, and some chain lube so I can lube that. Well, I am off all weekend so it will be playtime for me and my baby all weekend. :D
