As for racebikes, many of the new sponsored big-ticket superbikers have an electronically controlled clutch linked to the shifter, where the clutch is disengaged and engaged far more rapidly than the racer can do with his hand. This prevents the shift forks and gears from being hammered into grey paste by the end of the race.
This tech has actually trickled down, the new Yammie FJ1300 AE uses basically the same technology.

Well up shifting is easy in both a cage and a bike if you match the revs of the engine with the transmission. But the thing about it is you have to know your bike and your cage well so you know when to shift with out doing any damage to yout tranny, if you dont you can mess up a tranny real easy. I have been doing it for years on both bikes and cages heck I learned to do it on a tractor because I was rather short until I was late in in my teens and it was unsafe having to push in the clutch when on the farm. Then I started trying it on my 65 mustang with no damage and tried on the bike and and it is easy to do once you get out of 1st gear.
And that is all i got to say on that topic......

Yanno?? I always thought some of you guys in here were expert experienced riders but after reading some of the last posts ur not. I do and everybody I know rides their bike without using the clutch, I can explain the right way of doing it but I know some know it all, that doesn't know nothing is going to condem me for it, so I would suggest you Beginners use ur clutch.

I would rather use my clutch then not as it's smoother and I'm semi paranoid about how I ride.
