The reasons for me hesitating to go through a four way stop is the fact that the others waiting may not wait for their que and thus run ahead and cause an accident. I don't always hesitate but my perception of such is so much for words, bike or cage.

Yes, and they all vacation in Florida during the winter months.

a knowledge test is a poor indicator of real world driving ability.

any punk kid fresh out of drivers' ed would score very high on that test but doesn't have @#$% for skill or experience on the road.

That's fine... but I still think it is strange that they would fail.

When I went to get my MC endorsement added to my license the DMV surprised me with the fact that, since I hadn't taken the "laws" (i.e. normal car written) test in a few years, I'd have to pass that as well. I hadn't read the standard driving book or paid much of any attention to it when getting ready to go to the DMV before they handed me two tests... and once I had the test in my hand I couldn't go study... so I went and took the test "blind".

And passed of course.

It ain't that hard... even though existing drivers are only allowed half as many wrong answers as first time test-takers it ain't that hard. The fact that anyone who is licensed to drive would fail that test is a little scary actually... because most of it deals with stuff you must know to be safe (such as how to identify blind people).

Same exact thing happened to me. I took it blind and passed it 100%. I didn't miss a single question on the drivers test, but I did miss a couple on the MC test.
