it's bec of military technology... you get to play w/ the most advanced technology.
Ultralights are way more fun, and much less advanced tech.

If I ever fly a plane, I'd probably crash cause I'd be playing with these instead of paying attention to flying.

I think....

You need to quit worrying about looking cool and worry more about people taking you seriously.

In my career/life I've noticed one thing that has remained true: The ones that talk the most, try to draw the most attention to themselves, and show off are generally the ones the least secure with their abilities.

Those are the type of people I just blow off and ignore.

Verm, I understand you like riding etc etc, but you know full well what most here think of your abilities and squid-ish tendencies(I'm a full squid myself btw, so not bashing being a squid) You are so wrapped up in the scene and the look and what you see on MotoGP races that it seems your sole point for riding is for people to think how cool you are/look.

Learning how to do 0-60 in 3second hole-shots? What on earth is that going to help you accomplish when riding in the real world? As far as I can see, it'll help you accelerate too quickly into the back of the car in front of you, messing up that nice Gixxer. You arent a track racer. You arent a drag racer. You are a relatively new rider who should stop worrying about the latest new cool Sh** and how to be pro, and just focus on being a efficient and safe rider. Work on delayed apexing some more. Work on your cornering lines. Work on not getting chicken strips on your tires. Thats the stuff you need to be focusing on, not learning how to do hole-shots! You are only asking for trouble.

my point is you dont need anything else to practice...concentrate on this stuff first. Walk before you run. And its not so much what you do, but the fixation on "I wanna be fast" makes you seem...I dunno..whats teh word...

Good point. My buddy flies F-18s off carrier decks, which is pretty cool, but he'll never squeeze his plane into a tiny patch of grass on the side of a mountain (which I think is even more fun). Different planes for different missions. Technology has it's place, but one of the most enjoyable planes I've flown was a 1939 J-3 Cub.
