Verm is having another little n00b moment actually.

In California, gas stations are legally required to give free air if you buy gas (because "full tires save fuel") so if he buys fuel he can go into the station and ask for a token for the air compressor. They usually just give you money for the machine since the air compressors are franchise units installed by third parties.

There is even a sign at every gas station telling everyone who cares to read the signs at gas stations about this and listing an 800 number to call and report the station to the Man if they don't give you your free air.

Why an amp that can go up to 10 when another goes to 11?
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?.....Nowhere!
Why not just make 10 louder?

Good volume, but low pressure. Get a good 6 stage recip. And use an internal combustion prime mover to drive it, you only get 2-3 starts per hour from those electric drivers, less if your in an urban area. The power company won't let you draw that hard on thier grid in a city.

You could always get yourself a hot-headed girlfriend. That would work just fine for motorcycle tires.

At every gas station I've ever aired up, you can just ask the cashier to turn on the air and he has a switch right behind the counter. It's always free and I never have to buy gas.

They can do that if they want (though I've honestly never seen it... I've seen stations that were free with no controls and stations with coin slots but never what you described)... but legally they MUST give you compressed air if a) you bought gas from them and b) they have a working air compressor.
