I will sometimes put it in nuetral if I need a break. You know, stand over the bike, stretch the legs, stretch my arms, stretch my bike, shake out my hand.

Most of the time I keep it in gear. But I definately don't do that unless I think the light will be long or if I'm on a major road. You could ask me why, or you could look at my signature

gotta keep occupied... *LoL* I try not to be too obvious about it..just a bit of tappin.... its kinda like blowing over your beer bottle, as it gets lower you get deeper notes...... I allways click back to 1st when I see the dont walk sign start flashing.... I think the worst thing would be to rev up the engine..and not go anywhere cause you forgot your in N :laughing:

i don't think i have ever been in neutral at a light. if my hand needs a little stretch from holding in the clutch, i wait until i am up to traffic speed and then i have all sorts of time to stretch it out. maybe i just get lucky and don't get into 5 minute waits at lights though, that might precipitate it i guess.

i only put it in N for open bridges. those take awhile to close....


i wonder if anyone ever jumped an opening drawbridge, sounds painfully fun(to watch)

pull over and get gas or something to rest your hand....dont ever give a cager an easy shot.

Being in gear may not have saved that guy either. He could still have been in gear and still have the car rear ended him. By the time you can react, you won't have many options.

unless you have a ferrari behind you how is your bike not fast enough to avoid the guy behind you hitting you? All the bikes I have seen will out run your average vehicle from a standing to going position. This is a ? I would like answered as well most of you know I dont have a bike yet and my MSF course isnt until next weekend =[. I mean heck it took me all of about 30 seconds of someone explaining to me how to shift in a car and I was out driving like I had been doing it for years (shifting that is) cept that stupid stop on a hill thing. That took me a bit to figure out lol.
