I have a 2001 Sportster that I picked up as a cheap small bike to learn on. Didn't want to throw a ton of money into it, but I wanted to increase my safety so I looked into aux lighting solutions. Since my bike already had a windshield and I didn't want to shell out the $$$ for a new one for the HD Aux lighting I started looking into alternatives. I checked out foglights that mount on the engine guards, but i didn't like the look nor that and they didn't turn with the forks so I kept looking. I found Kuryakyn silver bullets come in 35w halogen models and they have fork mounts for them. I mounted a pair of these just below the windshield on the forks and I have more visibility of the road and can be seen better. My brother and I took turns riding it to see how they looked. They are almost as bright as the headlamp (which has been upgraded to the high output model afterwards). Picked up PIAA high performance 1157 type bulbs and LED 1157 type bulbs for the turn signals, but they didn't really seem to help. If you looked at them straight on they seemed brighter, but at a slight angle the cheap stock bulbs seemed brighter so I left the stock bulbs in.
