AAHH! Ok. Stop.
You stopped!?
OK. Get a freaking wiring diagram! (usually found in a shop manual) You can't work on your bike w/o some guidance. Well, you can but that's why there are so many turd bikes on the used bike market - know what I mean?
It's just a neutral light. It can wait until the manual comes in the mail, trust me.

I can't believe you need to be told not to take random stuff apart on the bike.

hmmm...i'm not taking random stuff off...and i technically, it wasn't considered random stuff since around 10 different ppl told me that it would be in that area.......if it was a somthing complicated like a carb, i wouldn't open it....but it i see two bolts that are holding what looks like a cover, then no, i wouldn't be afraid to take it off.
so farr i've taken everything off the bike....everything that was in the top-half of the bike....gas tank, headlike, plastic...etc..etc.....its the bottom half that i don't know "poo poo" about.

If you want too, just follow the wire from the light and see where it leads..you may see where its shorting. dont unscrew anything if you dont have too, and if you do, make sure you put it aside in a clean place, with all screws and washers with it, dont do more then one at a time either... nothing worse then having a big ole pile of screws and bolts.
but you probably should wait for your manual, get a Haynes manual at your bike shop, mine cost about 50 bucks Canadian.

er, amen, amen and hail mary...
Also put aside a day. The difficulty in putting something back together increases with the amount of time since you took it apart. I ruined a good bike that way a few years ago. Since then I always try and get it back together as soon as I can, in the same day at the very least.
Oh and it always takes longer than you think it will until you've done it a few times.

Turn the key on, put the bike in gear (Without the engine running of course, and try and jiggle the clumps of wires in/around the dash area and see if you can get the neutral light to blink on.

okay so i havn't gotten the papers yet but i did what techTMW said....
put her in first, and jiggled the wires near the headlight...then the N light went on. i think i'm gonna open of the front fairing tomorrow or this weekend.
i also noticed that when i pull the clutch in all the way, the N light goes off....idk if this is relevant tho.
