hearing my 76 cb360 run after rebuilding it over the past year was one of my favorite motorcycle sounds.

Don't get too used to it though... more legislation and emissions restrictions to ease up noise on bikes, even engine noise. Funny how car commercials advertise nice sounding rumbles but when it comes to bikes it's gotta be whisper quiet.

one sound i really dont like are dirt bikes revvin high, sounds like a drill at the dentist :boxed: , some kids around here race through the neighborhood every now and again. it is fun to see them fall over though, seeing other people getting hurt always makes me laugh.

...only on bikes built after the restriction passes... and who likes new bikes anyway :) Those "nice sounding rumbles" are always whisper quiet, there's a lot more restrictions on cars than bikes.

Are there any websites with different bike sounds? In particular, stock bikes from Yamaha, Honda, or Kawasaki?

I know Total Motorcycle has some, but I've listened to those already.

I have an RC51 now and it sounds ok with stock exhaust but I was thinking of changing it out for Sato low mounts. I've heard it's nice with thouse on. I also had a TL1000R and switched out to bolt on D&D's. The sound out of that would make Harley riders stop and stare. Also at the right RPM I could roll off the throttle and shoot flames out the back. But the backfires with the flames was enough to freak out cars. Then again it was really handy when soemone was tailgating.
