You have a good list of bikes there NathanM (read all their specs to see if there are any details/pros/cons you prefer in a bike). Next thing to do is go sit on each and see how they feel. Otherwise it's kinda like us picking out a pair of shoes for you - what we fit in nicely might not fit you the same.

I know. I sat on an interceptor the other day but will reserve judgement until I sit on all the bikes. A busy schedule keeps me from going to the yama/suzuk dealer for a few days. Just trying to do all my research ya know...after looking at the 599 I'm liking it more and more....

well I've sat on the bikes I've listed minus the 599...damn hard to find, but after doing a lot of research and spening some time over at svrider.com I think the sv650 is the bike for me. I also called my insurance agent the other day and found out my insurance co. only goes by cc's and year...although the 650 is nearly perfect well...the fact the my insurance doesn't care if it's rr or not kinda gets my mind goin...DAMN! I need to find a sv to ride so I can shut up my wondering mind...

Even though you go to ASU, I'll tell ya that the SV is a great choice. Are you looking at the naked or S version?

I would try asking your local motorcycle dealer if he can get you hooked up with insurance or run it through your parents name (since you mentioned the Bank of Dad). Save you tons of money annually that way.

The only problem with messing with the suspension on the SV is that you're probably going to end up putting a steering dampner on the bloody thing as well.

naked.

I'm payin all at once all in cash...

I might be gettin a pre-modded sv w/ suspension upgrades, but the top speed is only 133 if I remember right so I dunno if I'll need to add a steering stabalizer...we'll see....

19 year olds have no buisness on RR bikes (yes, note the sweeping generalization, your insurance agent agrees with me) if your worried about a 133mph top speed, and you in college so you got no moneys for track days, you obviously lack the maturity for such a bike. why dont you keep one of the bikes you have now and try to work on building a track bike if thats where you want to ride [on the track]. buy a wrecked/ salvage bike and build it up as time/cash allows and use it as a track racer not a street burner. take it or leave it, thats my 2 pennies. good luck whatever you decide.

I didn't say I'd be doing 133 on the streets so plase don't make that assumption.

I believe most rr bikes don't have business on the streets, although I agree for the most part with the generalization. My insurance agent couln't care less if it was an rr bike or not, just how many cc's.

I don't work multiple jobs and sometimes considered stingy for no reason, that's another generalization that I wouldn't make unless you actually know me...You don't know me! - Cartman

Sure, whatever you say sport.

nothing? I believe the quicker you go the more important absorbing road shock and steering kickback is. But please explain if my logic has error.
