I actually assumed the guy I was following would be a bit more conservative, since he took a tumble over his bars about 2 years ago and had a spiral fracture of his leg.
I have found the opposite.
The conservative riding lasts a very short time and then it is back into it stronger than ever.
I am amazed that you remember how you fell when you came off. I wouldn't know my arse from my elbow during a crash.

Well, I can't really say I remember exactly how I fell, it happened so fast, but I definitely know where I landed and what I was doing before the bike left the road.
Btw, he was not riding his R6, he also has a BMW 1150R, I believe. That's what he was riding. I'd not had any problems keeping up before that corner, although I did scrape a peg earlier in the ride.

similar to the way i put my vulcan down when i first got it...round the corner and an oncoming van gave me a little panic...front braked while leaning and flipped over handlebars....
are your actual bars bent or out of alignment....the mount on the triple tree has some play...can prolly fix for free.

Glad to hear you came out of it in decent shape - all things considered.
You may or may not have heard the expression "ride your own ride" but it certainly applies in this case. I think you can figure out what it means.
Get well soon.

Glad to hear your Ok. In case you didn't already know there is a bike salvage yard in West Haven. I have not used them before, so I can't give an opinion on their service. Mite be worth checking out tho since you are in New Haven.
