I gotta admit, I'd take to those (riding or walking) about the way I'd take to hello kitty pants. That sort of thing is fine for underwear, but you gotta draw the line somewhere.....
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

The skull doesn't look that bad in person, not very cartoonish... and it's a bit more bad-azz than hello kitty :)

You are mistaken. I ordered mine with armor, and they came with armor. Knoxx knee armore CE approved.

I have the Joe Rocket Steel jeans. they have kevlar/codura (with little steel threads woven in as well) in the knees and the butt area. They are pretty comfy, look like regular jeans, and you can wear them over motorcycle boots (a lot of jeans wont fit over motorcycle boots).

Only downside I have seen vs regular jeans is they are a bit warmer than regular jeans on a hot day.

My Draggin Jeans combats have knee inserts however

my Hein Gericke deniim jeans not only have the heavy weight denim, stitching etc but knee and hip armour inserts...
