I used to swear by a full face and always said I wouldn't ride with anything less.Wheelie fever wrote:I've never ridden without a helmet but when the bugs hit I have always wondered how much it would hurt if the shield wasnt there to protect my eyes from the little bastards. I'm just thankfull thet I've had my full face helmet when I've needed it or I wouldnt have 1/2 my face right now.
I recently bought a beanie "just for short boots around my rural town", as I promised the wife.
But I'm addicted to this thing and haven't ridden with the full face since. Yes, dust stings a bit, but it ain't as bad as I thought. And as for bugs, I find that they don't splatter or stick to the flesh on my face as they used to do on my face shield. It seems they bounce off cleanly and are quite bearable. The only real pain is when I yawn or start singing and get a mouthful. That is not tasty at all.
