Funny enough, as I was pulling into the station a woman was trying to cross the street with a stroller, so I blocked the lane for her to go..you'd think that would count for something!!!!

a few years ago, I would have, as soon as he grabbed my bars. At my job I used to be the guy with the permanently bloody knuckles, they're still scarred up, and to be honest I only hit first once, preemtively as I saw a situation going badly quickly. However, the way we were standing, if I hit him I could have hurt him way worse than I meant to, as I was lined up with his temple, and having taken some martial arts training, a punch like that could be really bad. A lot of things were running through my head at that point, 2 of them being my wife and daughter. So I did the right thing, still would have been nice to put that guy on his "O Ring" tho.

Someone once told me to 'not fight angry', guess they were right.

I guess the lesson is not to go to full service pumps. It's amazing how something as simple as pumping gas can turn into such a complicated situation. Good story to share though...

I'm not sure he has a choice. People in some areas are incompetent to handle gasoline and local governments in those areas have had to enact special laws.

Personally, I'd view it as evidence I didn't want to live in such a reason... like if you can't trust your neighbor to pump gas can you trust him not to blow his house up? I don't think so.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

Yeah, in the township I live in it's full serve only, but for bikes its usually optional, gas cans too. I guess most station attendants figure correctly, if they have a bike or a can, they know what they're doing, they'll offer to help, but don't give you a problem if you decline..this guy, I don't know, but I've been there many times before

How is it possible to own a car and not know how to fill it with gas?

No one can be that stupid.

It's just an attempt to give people jobs. By making it mandatory, they create thousands of new jobs. One more example of how the government needs to get out of the way, but that's a hwole different topic.

Check this thread. One of the pictures has a woman who obviously should not have been allowed to pump her own gas.
