yeah and I thought my bandit was fast being able to hit 60mph in 1st gear and break any speed limit in the US in 2nd gear. Funny how my bandit is considered a SLOW 600 and is still faster than all but the fastest cars.

I dont see a real need for any more power than my current bike has. Though admittedly some more low end torque would be nice.

You really want one don't you.

It won't do 100 in first, it hits the limiter at under 90.
Really? What year is yours? Has it always topped out around 90 in first? Makes me wonder how different each bike can really be. Even when they are the same model.
Mine is a 2004 and as far as I know they are all the same in first gear. The only difference in the rev limiter is in 6th. If I remember correctly I think it is 88 mph in first. I'll look it up and see if I can find the info.
Actually, I probably have a video of me hitting the limiter in first, (not intentionally of course) I'll look for that also.

i think the K5 and K6 GSX-R1000 has a tad little more hp than the busa, which is not surprising since the busa is still the same bike since '99, except that the '99 model doesn't need a TRE since it had no limiters.

plus, i think the gixxers have a race oriented gearing ratio compared to a busa so that's why the gixxer1k can reach higher speeds at 1st gear than the busa.

it's probably the gear ratios.

I would love to see that. Do you feel comfortable running in those high rpms? I was getting pretty scared past 8k and didn't look at the gauges until I shifted to 2nd, at which point I was in the 90s. I don't think I was at the limiter when I shifted so I assumed it could've broken 100. Plus I thought I've read that they are supposed to completely stock.

The Kawi ZX-12 can do more than a 100 in first after reading a review.

Yeah all the politicians want us to ride 500cc's and somehow they're blind to see the raving press release of the new Bugatti Veyron (or whatever) that can go as fast as 230.

I shouldn't be allowed to ride any bike at all, since I am very immature and a danger to myself and others.
