Thanks everyone for the kind words on the new bike.
I will take that SQUID line as a compliment..haha, I am a 17 year vet in the US Navy, so I have been living with that term for many many years..lol. 3 more til I can retire. Then you can call me Ex-Squid.
I have a black and white Cirus helmet that a friend of mine let me have til I can go out next payday and get the color that I want. I would never ever ride with out one. I really value my melon alot. Along with the helmet, I am storing his 1998 Honda CBRXX in my garage. That bike is a beast, let me tell you. I still havent gotten up the nerve to take that thing out. One of these days, but I dont think it will be anytime soon..hehe.
So far this is the only bike we have. I feel very comfortable on it, but my wife is still getting the feel for it. So far we just go to the elementary school in the neighborhood and have been practicing a lot of the things we learned in the MSF course. We use the bus parking area, lots of room to ride around. With only 1 bike we are able to swap back and forth and critique each other. A good friend of mine is an instructor for the MSF course, so I have all of his training materials. We use that to redo the skills from the course.
I told her if she gets to feeling more comfortable on this then it would become her bike and I would look for something else and if not, we will keep looking around and find something more to her liking. I think she may be leaning more toward a cruiser type bike and if that is the case, I will gladly find her something towards that style as soon as I get this thing paid off later this year or early next year. At least then we will have 2 different models that we can swap back and forth. Will see how this plays out. Right now we are both having fun and that is what counts.
Ride Safe,
Crio

that's awesome
i can testify that having a cruiser and a more sporty bike in the stable is a great thing. In our house we have a shadow spirit 750 and the ninja 250 which get ridden based on what we feel like doing at the time.
keep up the practice, and say hi to the wife for us

Congrats on your purchase.
You may need to see a doctor about wipping that smile from your face. If it last's longer than five days it will become a perma-grin
Especially now that you have aubmitted yourself to a lifelong addiction. There is no turning back now!
Again congrats!
