Many condolences to you, that really sucks man. Hopefully you can get the scratches out! Glad it wasn't a high speed accident though...don't beat yourself up too bad. It does happen.

No Chromer within 1500Klms.
Black BBQ paint Al. Looks sharp and is far cheaper than powdercoating. Also much easier to touch up if you get any new scratches.

And I feel your pain.

2 weeks after I bought my KLR last year, I dropped it while out riding with a friend; broke the clutch lever and handguard, and scuffed up my left mirror.

Well....my back is Kickin' my AZZ, so to speak....after lifting up the Street-Rod, so I think I'll go to the Chiro this week to seek some relief.

OK: So Saturday Sucked for me but today (Sunday) to top it all off....I rode out to a place & put my bike cover on....when I came back I noticed a nice hole in my new cover, then I looked close & YES FOLKS!! it had melted onto my NEW Mufflers!!!!

I warmed up the pipes until I could scrape it all off with my fingernails & would you believe it? I scratched the chrome a little bit more! - This is Fricken getting ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scratches suck

Scratches suck!

I really have become paranoid with my bike when moving it around the garage and when coming to stops that have gravel on them. Yesterday, pulled off the side of the road to enjoy the scenery and when I put my feet down (not even going 1 mph to stop, the bike slid on the gravel and wanted to go down, BUT DIDN'T, phew!! Biggest danger in dropping is when you least expect it...so be ready.

My condolences on your scratches.

Well I guess you could make the defect into a feature...

Having a sore back is no laughing matter. Anyone can strain a back from lifting somethng heavy regardless of how strong or fit or young you are.

True, that. Hopefully it's none too major and you can get back to 100%. Back problems are a bit@h and a half, and ordinarily, unfortunately are difficult to recover fully from. Sorry to hear about the machine...that sux :(

EDIT: PS Next time don't be a boob...lift with your legs :o
