On a somewhat related note... I realize this doesn't apply to all the complaints about this.
For those who whine and cry about the ads causing problems at work.... you got balls, I'll give you that.
I don't know what it is you do for a living, and it doesn't really matter, but how can you have the nerve to blitch about some ads distracting you or alerting your bosses or whatever when your 'sposed to be working?!?!? And then to have the gall to complain about it?
Your lucky I'm not your boss....

Buzzz, not sure what you do for a living, but you mean to tell me that you've never had down time at work? 5 minutes to relax and check the internet?
I know I have weeks when I'm so busy I don't have time to go to the bathroom, and others where I could have stayed home and been just as productive.
Of course, it helps that my boss lives on the other side of the country.

Not really. It depends on the job. I get paid for 8 hours a day, but I'm usually here for 10 or 12 hrs. I have to work with a lot of other groups, so I generally have downtime while I'm waiting for them to get their act together.
My boss really doesn't care what I do as long as all my work gets done correctly and on time.

Yes, I mean to tell you that if got caught piddling away 5 minutes at work, my azz would be in a sling. I can smoke a cigarette in 35-40 seconds(I've timed it many times) if I try, but if I get caught doing that in the 2.5 hrs between coffee breaks, I'm on report. 3 times and I'm down the road, kickin' turds. And doing that uses no company resources and does not open the company system to invasion by viruses or spyware or what-have-you.
And I know it is not allowed by my company, just like those who complain know that net surfing is not allowed by thiers. My comment was directed at those who complain that certain ads get them in such trouble at work. If your worksite has no problem with it, then it wasn't directed at you.
But I have a hard time feeling sorry for those who moan about ads getting them busted for breaking thier employer's rules.
