Don't look now....but that 'Chip' on your shoulder is showing.
Yeah, he's got it in for Ducatis too, it seems. Wonder what his "expert" opinion is on Beemers?
Ducati make decent bikes, but they charge too much for inferior products. I actually look for VALUE in what products I purchase...especially if the final price runs into the thousands.
I know when I am being ripped off...and in my opinion HD, Ducati, MV Agusta, are all a ripoff.
However, the new retro Ducatis look very clean. But it is inexcusable to pay MORE for a machine, get less perfomance, and less reliability.
That is why, for the money, or with the $ variable thrown out...the Japanese DOMINATE in every category.
Used to like muscle cars, then I drove a Toyota MR2...used to like Harleys, then I learned about bikes...so I bought a Ninja.
I will have my green ZX-10R in another two years after my Bachelor's.
To each their own, but if I want the best, I will buy Japanese, thank you.
Whether you are a "rice burner", "corn burner", "pasta burner", "sour kraut burner", etc...Just remember all bikes are equal...but some are more equal than others. By tasting every flavor, it should be evident who spent more time in R&D, on the track winning races...Japan Inc, if you are honest with yourself, and put away your xenophobia.
By the way, BMW makes awesome bikes, but they are so damn ugly. At least their cars looked cool for a while, even they are hideous now. At least the new 1200RS looks decent.
I believe in technology. I believe in DOHC, multi-valve cylinder heads, liquid-cooling, astronomical RPM, more than five gears, light weight, chain drive, and all at a reasonable price.
I believe in sportbikes.
