Most warning stickers won't have the clear coat over them.

The Honda logos on my tank do, so I leave them alone. You can usually tell by watching the reflection of light across the edge of the stickers. Or see if you can catch the sticker with a finger... if they did a good job of clear coating then you won't be able to catch an edge at all, give it up as a lost cause.

M50... probably no clearcoat over the warnings (none I've looked at have had it).

As for actually removing them, I rubbed mine with my thumb for a minute to warm it up, then peeled it off, no residue either.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
