V-Strom looks like some sort of cargo-carrying aircraft to me. I'm not a huge fan of the looks, although both people I know who have one love it. One has the 650 and one has the 1000, both will get the job done.

It' will always be an ugly duckling in my mind though.

My Dad has an '05 1200R. I've ridden it several times up and around Alice's restraunt in Cali. I'm hopelessly in love with it. Without a doubt, it will be my next bike. The power was fantastic...but what really got me was the balance. It handled like a dream in the twistys. The electronic suspension adjustments were really nice too. For part of the ride, Dad had my sister on the back...when we switched bikes it was two pushes of a button and the suspension was set back for one rider. He's got a full Remus exhaust system on his too, so it's got quite a growl.

Sorry...I've been trusting after this bike since the day he brought it home. Now, if I can only come up with $14K...

I believe Ben Affleck rode this same model in the movie "Paycheck". One heck of a chase scene half way thru the movie.

And yeah, this bike is super cool. I have this bike and an R1 on my narrow list for purchase next year. It's a huge toss up at this point. The brand new R1 will be interesting.

Watch Yamaha not change anything on the R1 for '07 just to get everyone riled up. Everyone's making photoshops and predictions...watch it have 1 new color or something. Has Yamaha even announced that they are planning a redesigning it for '07?

For the BMW, can you change the suspension on the fly or do you have to be at a stop? It'd be interesting to see someone who was about to bottom out the suspension alter it in the middle of a turn to get it riding mid-compression.

He rode a 1150R rockster, which is also a cool looking bike. Too abd they are all too damn expensive
