earwig-

I only see the host occasionally wear a mesh jacket. I realize to some people that constitutes full gear. I was mostly talking about the dozens and dozens of stunters they show wearing a tee shirt. And yes, I think they are squids. To me a squid is all bling, no actual riding skill. That covers most of the show.

Please, lets not turn this into a flame war. You dont like my definition of squid, lets leave it at that.

I agree that the shows is a step in the wrong direction.

Sure they may have all the obligatory warning but it's still not going to stop a whole bunch of noobs from going aout and buy a gixxer 1000 and trying to repeat what they see. They won't realize that it takes a lot of practice and skill to do those things.

Plus some of the tackiest bikes i've ever seen have been on that show.
It's all about the bling.

Dude, the host never ONCE did a stunt without full gear - gloves, helmet, jacket and boots. I am sure it is in his contract with the network that he has to. 2nd... just beacuse people are doing stunts doesn't mean they are squids.... PERIOD... if they were squids they wouldn't be able to stunt so well. Why do you say they have no riding skill?

Gotta disagree with you there, at least insofar as last night's show. A lot of those folks riding through Manhattan barely had a helmet on let alone "wear(ing) full gear." There were even several guys with their helmets perched on top of their heads.

As to being squids, I think popping wheelies and stoppies in the middle of hundreds of other bikers and *in the middle of Manhattan traffic* sure qualifies as, if nothing else, "squidly activities".

Did you see more than 1 episode? That just isn't true. If someone is going to go and buy a Gixxer 1000 and stunt I'm sure they would have even if this show never came on the air. I guess you also think that everyone who watches horror movies or plays violent video games is going to become a murderer also.

They show some "tricked out" bikes, but they also show tons of regular sport bikes... did you see the track episode, the deals gap episode, or the street fighter episode?

I'm sure the show is designed to appeal to a very diverse crowd of sport bike riders... you don't seem to realize that many sport bike riders are into stunting or at least like to watch it. People are also into those ugly tacky stretched out hyabusas.

I'm sure he is. But he's not a very good interviewer/TV Show host.

I never said he was... I was explaining why you see so much ICON gear on the show... because they sponsor him.

Being a stunter with a bling bike is a damn good indicator. You dont think its a squidly show, I do. We should leave it at that.

No... having a "bling" bike, and doing stunts is not what a squid is! Ok... so since you do not have a bling bike, and you do not stunt means you are an MSF instructor, ok?
