get a scooter.
I wouldn't recommend getting a cruiser. After being on a sportbike, you will want to get off and kick the damned thing any time you go around a corner. It really sucks going back.
I think your best bet is to get a smaller sportbike. Get something that you can "wring out" without grossly violated the speed limit. I feel it is more fun to ride a slow bike to its potential. However, just make sure the bike HAS potential. I cringe every time I get back on a cruiser, just because I'm scraping parts left and right. You still want to be able to do some spirited riding without shooting up sparks every time...
My vote goes to something with good handling but less top speed.

Guy was being an asshat and you successfully prodded him into Ticketville. I fail to see the problem.

I think his problem was the fact he was about 5 seconds away from getting the ticket.
I'm glad you came out of it okay though.

Sounds like you're probably aware enough of the potential problem to control your throttle urges.
Hahah, sounds like you set up mr. redneck *perfectly* !!

Man, if I let every redneck in a 4x4 in medicine hat bother me, I'd be done. They are a dime a dozen here. Coming home from work in suffield, the highway is a see of trucks, most of whom have their foot to the floor. Glad you weren't ticketed, that was a close one. I often ride over the speed limit here just so I don't have some pickup barreling down on me, though I don't do 80+ over the limit like I see a lot of guys on sportbikes here do. Then again, that might change once I get a bike capable of high speeds..
Btw, do you know of any good roads near medicine hat to go riding? I'm only here for one more month, but I'll be getting my 599 soon so I want to test it out on some nice curves.

I think it is in all of us. I was out riding tonight and for some reason I just had to rev my bike out off of the line at stop light. A few times I felt insulted if a car passed me right off the start. So something took over and I had to show them who was faster. I really need to stop. I am going to get myself into trouble.
