Hey I understand you are now trying to save face. I also see that you have altered your original post.

If that's what really makes you feel better, justify it how you can. BS.

Interesting topic here.

I find it hard to believe anyone would intentionally make fun of disabled riders. Very sad indeed. It appears some posts have been deleted from this thread, so I don't have a complete idea what was posted, but it sounded not good.

But I do understand Shorts dismay over previous posts if what I thought was posted is correct. Foot in mouth syndrome is common. Everyone does it now and then. Though sadly for some it shows their true colors, hopefully not the case here. The one at fault should be giving apologies, while the ones offended should be eager to forgive if the party at fault is sincere.

I find that as I learn more about motorcycles and motorcycle culture, as much as like somethings about it, I dislike the elitism that many display. Alot of riders carry some hard biases with them that have no justification to a rational person. Being open minded was what interested me in learning to ride.

Well said, Hegor!
Lucky for you you missed some of the posts. I know it was a well intended joke to begin with, knowing who posted it. I don't think it was meant to be as hurtful or elitist. At least I would hope not!
While I am VERY new to riding myself, I have found that most riders are like every one else...there are good and bad ones everywhere. Some wave, some don't...I don't take it personally...I always try to wave or nod and get where I'm going safely.
If it takes training wheels, a kit on my ride or whatever.....As long as I'm able to ride my motorcycle safely and responsibly, I personally don't care what anyone says about my "ride". :twocents:

VTX1300C wrote:Nothing to do with saving face, I was thinking you were sincere about the disabled and trying to be sensitive to your post and changed it not to offend anyone else and you sh%t on me.

Now see that disabled riders had nothing to do with your posts and everything about pushing your own agenda..a self serving pity of a bad attitude to mess with those enjoying life a liitle more than you.
You do realize that Shorts has very little use of her left arm at all - right? Her "agenda" would be disabled riders and her feelings on reading the post would be as a disabled rider. She has mad props from me because if I was in the same boat as her, I'm not sure I would pursue riding at all.

Know your audience!

I'm going to apologize on behalf of VTX, because he obviously isn't man enough to do it himself - without tacking on some condescending remark about how we (in a general sense) shouldn't take offense about anything he has said.

I'm sorry for the actions of this forum member. He doesn't represent all of us.

Appology

If this is disturbing people and creating totally fictitious representations of my original intentions, I'm taking off my posts except for this one. It was meant for fun on a totally different subject

Thank you Nalian for the CONSTRUCTIVE critisism and others who had the common sense and courtesy to give me the benefit of the doubt. I sincerely appreciate it.

When I wrote the post, I did not know about Shorts or that she or anyonelse would take the post the way they did. I understand now where Shorts is coming from after reading the posts of her trying to ride her new bike. I sincerely appologize to you Shorts and any others who were offended.

Now that I have gained a little more background understanding and someone (Nalian) has taken a moment to explain things to me...

I'll be more careful in the future.

Hey, I said that was well in my 2nd reply that I understood it was in light hearted fun. It was the other part that bugged me. I won't go back and quote my UNEDITED replies as you should be old enough to go back and read it for yourself.

Agenda? I have an agenda? What is wrong with you? I'm talking to you in all honestly and you explode like a hot head? I don't NEED to walk around announcing my "qualifications" in order to make a statement.

YOU made the mistake. YOU posted the stupid thing. YOU were called on it. YOU couldn't take it in stride. It was you, all you that stepped in it. Don't turn this around to make it look like I was the one.

Grow up.
