Like the others have said a bandana or doo rag will help keep the sweat off of it. For me I just wear a pony tail...girls best friend.

Blues, I love that pic in your sig line. Speaking as an ex-Army soldier and on behalf of my still serving comrades in arms, I say thank you.

I use to have an old school Pompadour working for me, long sideburns and such.
Living in Chicago, especially over the past months, the temps have skyrocketted, so no more gel, and hairspray....just decided to buy a pair of clippers from target and buzz er down!
started off w/ a #3, then down to a #2.....i'll probably get down to a #1 w/ a 0 fade at the bottom.
So.....i ride to the train station (15 miles) and i also wear a dew rag under my helmet. I usually wear slacks and a buttoned shirt and though it may not be the most professional looking haircut (not like the Pompadour was either), it does the job- Besides.....think of all of the money i am saving by not using gobs of hairspray, gel, using my blow dryer and the time spent!
No helmet hair for me......

The trick is to get a 'no-maintenance' hair style. Shaved head

Helmet hair is better then no helmet hair. my hair is down to the middle of my back. When I ride without a helmet it takes a while just to get a comb through it. Ponytail is a guys bestfriend also!

Try one of these. They're what all the contestants on Survivor wear:
http://www.buffusa.com/
They come in a gazillion colors. There's even a line-up that has stripes of 3M Scotchlite reflective tape on it.
Go to the link and you can download a video of how to do about a half dozen different styles of wearing.
