free for me too - If I'd paid for it, I would probably have been really ticked off - as I'm 100% sure someone else could have better demonstrated the art of tight U-Turns to me for free. That was really all I got from the MSF course, other than a card that let me register my bike on base.

I hardly think riding pillion teaches you control of a bike's throttle/braking/steering. If your friend has never actually piloted a bike, then the MSF course is a great thing to take. You can practice on a bike that you don't care about if you drop it. Since it is free, I don't see why she shouldn't take it. My class was $135 and I don't regret taking it one bit.
