Kawasaki Vulcan VN750 - Good bike for TOTAL newbie?

Well the vulcan thing fell through...but on the bright side I found out i will not be able to take the motorcycle safety courde for another 10-12 weeks...that puts me into October November at which point it's getting too cold to ride anyway...It also gives me the ability now to do some comparison shopping as I realy am liking the Honda Shadow Spirti 750 or the Aero.

So, thanks for all the replies and great information!!!

In general, the Honda's are more expensive both up and down the model line.
