Hey Kal, thanks for the link.

I also found a devoted VTR250 ('98+) discussion board. I'm hoping our collective knowledge will provide enough info to take care of any issues that arise.

Mine ran about 210,000yen before random fees. Out the door at 286,000yen. So, maybe $25-2600USD.

Mine was "cheap" as it is a higher mileage (74k kms) bike but its a 2000 model. So, it is well broken in but solid and in the range we wanted to spend. If it survives me, I may try to import to the States at the end of our tour so I can have a bike to jump on while we're setting up rather than hustle to get another bike ready to go for me.
