dodo happens, and more often than we know. I witnessed a guy dump a then-brand-new '89 Ninja driving it across the street from the dealer for gas. He then picked it up, was all shakey and dumped it on the other side. It should have been funny,but I really had to feel for the guy. (New tires, unfamiliar with the bike and a little gravel in the middle of the street were all factors). That bike spent most of the season in the back of that shop waiting for parts as well. No doubt, the guy was making payments the entire time on a bike he hadn't ridden 50 feet!

This guy might be a new rider and does not feel confident to ride on the main road. When I bought my first bike, I made sure the guy is willing to ride the bike to my home.

Hate it for the guy. I've done stupid stuff, too - just not that particular stuff.
The dealers around here will gladly trailer the bike for you for free, assuming you just bought it and don't live in Timbuktu.

the dealer i know would have trailerd it home for the guy no problem. the only thing is usually they cant get it to you That day, it takes a little time cause they are so busy.
i have a feeling he dumped it while riding though, and made up the whole story about unloading it and dropped it. just the way it was scratched and the way the seat was ripped it really looked like it slid. could have came up with the story so his mom didnt kill him, the guy looked maybe 18-20.
but who knows, just seemd odd to me the way the plastics had long scratchs going front to back. not sure how those would happen when it falls straight down out of the truck.

What a nightmare! - but something tells me that surely that much damage can't be caused just by dropping it over? sounds like he's trying to get the dealer to sort it out...

the kid before him had a brand new cbr600rr(still with temp tags) not sure why he had it in the shop. but he had it rolled out to him and hoped on and went to take off in the very cramped and crowded parking lot, popped a very sudden very hard wheelie, panicd and braked slamming the front wheel back on the ground... then rode of Very slowly out of the parking lot.
some guys in the waiting area i herd talking "once you get the front wheelie down your all set, its no big deal after that". i didnt get to see the condition of his bike ;p
i almost want to go sit at this dealer for a day and watch all these people with no clue riding these performance bikes off the lot lol.

Not the wife - she tends to remember those things. Use the girlfriend... you can always get another one of those.
