Those things literally come out of nowhere on roads like this. You can't be too careful.

the curves are so tight that RV's and semi trucks take up both lanes. its a dragon slayers worst nightmare to come around a corner and see an RV or truck in their lane. (i say dragon slayer because the road is caled "the tail of the dragon". for more info check out www.dealsgap.com )

Do you only ever ride your 250 at deals gap?

Twisties are the the great leveler. In the right hands a slower bike will be faster and in the wrong hands a faster bike will be slower. But unless you trailer your bike to some corners then a 250 is horribly underpowered.

I drag things through corners on my 1200 pushing the bike to its limits but the difference is that when I am not charging through corners I have a stack of power to have fun in a straight line.

Why limit yourself?

That looks like SO MUCH FUN! I would love to going riding with you on my 250. To bad it's more than a thousand miles away.

That stupid stupid sales person at my local Kawasaki dealer talked me out of buying a Ninja250. What a MORON. Oh well, I still found a nice 250, and at half the price of a new Ninja.

there's nowhere on the gap that is straight enough for long enough for anything to get WFO. Going fast in a straight line is nowhere near as exciting as powering through twisty bits.

Powering being the key word.

thanks but i was doing that before and i still do it when im just at a mellow pace.

when im riding at a spirited pace though... i find hanging off to be better. just my personal experience and from others that i ride with.

you have your style you wanna do and i have mine.

I guess *you* won't get bored on a 250. Some people are still happy playing pac-man and pong too.

yea, becasue it takes skill to ride fast in a straight line....

i ride my bike the 50 miles there and 50 miles home usually several times a week. and i'd like to see you run "the gap" at wide open throttle. we are talkign decreasing radius and hairpin turns. 30 of them every mile (on average)

in case you are bad at math thats 15 every 1/2 mile
7.5 curves every quarter mile,
3.75 curves every 1/8 mile for 11 consecutive miles!

come down here and i'll show you what an "underpowered" bike can do. and as for straighaways- my bike has a 12 cubic inch motor. 12! if i wanted to drag race, i'd get a busa, i prefer learning riding skill over having a bike that goes fast even if its a monkey kicking the shifter. (not that you are a monkey)

if you say your pushing you bike to the limits, we are going to need soem pics to back that up. everyonetalks smack on the interwebs, i posted up, how bout you?
