For cryin' out loud, Verm! At least stay on topic! Nobody cares (on this thread) how much riding you do on the weekend. You severely missed the point here.

I use this lock once in awhile. My husband has one as well, but his attaches to the bike frame and then to a huge "D" bolt that is now a permanent part of the sidewalk next to the house. You'd have to remove the slab of concrete to get the "D" bolt out.

The cuffs are nice and strong, portable (although they do weigh a lot!), and you can even lock two bikes together if you get the front tires close enough together.

I believe that honest people stay honest via their own personal integrity. Lazy thieves or strictly opportunist thieves will see my lock as a deterrent. If a seasoned, more determined thief wants my bike bad enough, then go ahead - my insurance will cover it.

I just use my regular steering lock and park it in a corner where I can see it from the office, but its not in ready view from the street. Like others said if someone really wants it, they are going to get it. I make it less of a target by just keeping it out of the open, and most thieves go for expensive looking cruisers and sportbikes anyway.

wow all great posts...in response to this topic. forklock, some other kind of lock, cover, and if at all possible lock two bikes together. Also if you have to park outside..if you can park in a well lighted area.

A few months back on SPEED Channel...on two wheel Tuesday. They interviewed a old bike thief. He said that he would look for the easy pickens! Like checking to see if the fork lock is locked. If the bike was parking in a dark place....he even said that if a bike had an alarm system...he would take the time to set if off multiple times...so that eventually the owner would give up and turn the alarm off. Thinking that it was broke.

So more than one person posted this...if they really want it they will get it. That is just a sad fact of life!
