given time i'm sure their production standards on bikes will get better, kind of like the Hyundai cars used to be cheap pieces of crap that would get 1 star ratings...now they get good reviews since they fixed a lot of their quality issues. If the Koreans can do it, i'm sure the Chinese can get it together...now if only GM and Ford could figure it out

Most definately 5-6 yo Japanese bike. I'd even go for a 10 yo Japanese bike. Yes, Chinese bike manufacturers have had alliances with Japanese manufacturers for decades, so their bike plans are solid. It's the raw materials and quality that's very suspect.

There must be somewhat reliable Chinese bikes out there, because with 1.3B people riding in China, they must have some good bikes. Ask here:

Is it wrong that I think that is awesome and want to know if you kept it?
Sorry Kal, I didn't keep it. I was too disgusted  The weird thing about it was that it had some sort of flames all over it. Made me think that perhaps they drink some form of spicy Sprite in China.

A friend of mine Attempted to buy a 250cc chinese cruiser but the dealer he was going to buy it from could never get it running, he ended up getting a nighthawk 750 instead (good move on his part). The chinese cruiser was brand new and didn't run. The nighthawk is over 10 years old and runs perfectly.

I would suggest even a 10 year old japanese bike over a new chinese bike, with the exception of Kymco. I have heard good things about Kymco, but they seem to be the exception not the rule for chinese bikes.

Hyosung definately makes some interesting bikes for a good price, they have a really nice 250cc sportbike, have yet to see or ride one but looks like a lot of bike for the money.

new chinesse or 5-6 years old japanesse?

Japanese bike, hands down.

Now, like above, what is the example of the 5-6yr old jpn bike? Is it avg-good taken care off? or has it been dumped in a river and left for an achor?

Kymco is a Korean company, not Chinese.
