Group rides
I sure wish you ladies were in NC!! My better half has been doing what he calls an "advance"by maping out where we go less than 1/2 hour into the most beautiful country in the mountains where the sky meets the mountains. It is truly breathtaking. I am hard pressed to be in 4th gear!! On Sunday he found a corkscrew of a twisty that kept going up and up. I hated for it to end! Unfortunately the group rides don't find the time for these slower paced, SIMPLE pleasures.

Tactically aware and dangerously underestimated!
Thannks, cruzinmom, but I don't know how much response I'd get at this time of year!! It is not really going to get much above 60 (or at least one should PLAN for it not to get too warm
) Some people are already putting their bikes up for winter, and taking out the sleds. Me - I will ride till the snow flies - especially since I got that windshield!! I only have a snowmobile because... I have my motorcycle because I LOVE her!
But that is a great idea for Spring. I have women friends that ride, but it is always when I see them, they say, oh, I should have called you last week, we went riding.... Usually I was out, too, but by myself...
That is another good idea to get the men in one and the women in the other then meet up at the stops. Although, my current "group" had no women riders - only women passengers...
One problem is that my husband will always tel me "I don't need a destination" yet when his friends call, he's like "where are we going". I need a destination, or I end up lost!!

One thing you can do is to plan the ride. You be the organizer and pick the destination and route...and you be the road captain for your ride.
That way, you set the pace.
I found in my club, they were always going to the same places and I got tired of doing the same thing.
So, I posted a couple of rides and led the group. Maybe it could work in your club???

I ride with my hubby, his brother, his cousin and a couple of friends. I'm the only lady in the group. My sister in law took the course with me - we both passed - but when she got her own bike, she could not ride it and did everything wrong - so she gave up in 2 months, probably rode it abt 5 times, and sold it; which was a good idea b/c she probably wld hv killed herself on it.
anyways, I did an escorted charity ride for Western Monmouth Habitat for Humanity. Must have been over 600+ bikes. It was a great experience to do for charity every now and then but I prefer to ride with my hubby and the gang.
