I'm also looking at used bikes; saw one for sale yesterday, an '85 Honda Rebel 250cc with 30,000 kms (18,641 miles+) that's been restored; new engine, seat, air filter, etc. The tires look almost new as well. Asking price is $1,900 negotiable. I'd try to get it for around $ 1,200 if possible. I noticed that the plates had expired by 2 mos so how could I legally take it for a test ride? I'd also want a dealer's service dept to do a thorough inspection since I don't know that much about bikes. Got stung buying used cars in the past, don't want to repeat my misfortune.
