I would have no qualms about giving chase to your Gixxer. Unless it was a completely straight highway where you could go 140+, I don't think it would be an issue. Plus, I could just follow you until you run out of gas... my range is about 210 miles. Of course it would be less if I was giving chase, but so would yours.

Not to mention, you'd be so intimidated by the Ducati growl coming from the exhaust, you would simply wet yourself and lowside :twisted:

j/k. But it isn't a bike to underestimate.

yeah, im not saying it's weak.

im just saying given equal riding skills... the ninja will leave the DS behind.

nice mileage though... my bike only has 4 gal and it only last me around 150 miles on average.

and yeah, of course you'll catch me. you're way more experienced than i am. :wink:

also among the 749R and 999R, this is another ducati im interested in...

Excellent choice. The 851 is by far the best looking Duc ever created.

The 851 definitely is nice. I wouldn't kick it out of my garage :)

Verm, the Paul Smart bike is pretty neat. It has the same engine as the SS1000, Sport1000 and the 1000 GT. It just feels like quality when you sit on it. I think it would be great to go flying down the road on a bike that looks like it is from the 70's, but has modern suspension and decent power.

I'd still have to stick with my SS1000DS though. It makes more power than the Paul Smart bike, has a bigger gas tank, and weighs less.

what about the ms1100ds coming out soon? Granted its only got an extra 3 hp for the 100CC being added on but I have a feeling that it will be just as good and better than its couterpart. Imo the MS series is the best looking ducs out there. the supersports are just well ugly :D.

.... something is wrong with you. The supersports are sex on wheels :)

I like the Multistrada line, but they are more of the "ugly girl with a good personality" bike. The SS has the looks, and better performance... just not the comfort. I guess the ugly girl has more cushin for the pushin.

The Multistrada 1000DS is similar to the SS 1000DS power-wise, but slower due to different gearing and less aggressive cam profiles.

So I would wager that the 1100DS would be close to the SS1000DS powerwise, but it is still quite a bit heavier.

I guess after 4 kids in less than 5 years I should know what that is :D

Honestly I love the looks and feel of the MS. I just dont like the feel of the SS

Honestly, I wouldn't expect anyone without an abnormally long torso (me) to like the feel of the SS. It is very stretched out... but I like it 8)

The MS is a very comfy bike! But the SS appeals to my inner speed-demon. Plus, I don't know of another bike I have ridden that will take a corner so easy. Now that I have a few miles on it, I can comfortably say that as long as I keep it above 25mph, I can lean this thing until my knuckles scrape... :twisted:

Some people online have commented that the steering is a bit heavy... but I think they must be lightweights or something, I don't have to put any effort into corners. U-turns and figure 8's, yes, effort indeed. But twisty bends, different animal.
