I picked a cruiser because of look, comfort and how the weight was balanced. Some of the sport bikes I sat on were to high and top heavy. I'm sure I could have found something that worked if I really wanted one, but I sat on my 800 classic and fell in love with it!

I started on a standard because there was no such thing as cruisers or sportbikes. OK, there were Harleys, but not many seriously considered one in the AMF days.

I ended up picking it as I sat on one on a whim. I loooked at both cruisers and sportbikes. But what I really based my decision on, when everything came together, was the rideability and "ease" of learning that the sport standard design offers compared to the other two. And with my situation, I needed a good smooth way to start from.

"Standard"/"Naked"

It was a 125 which is rediculously easy to get on the road round here and had a nice bench seat which meant I could choose my own seating position.

I miss that Bike.

My first bike was 12 years ago, a sport bike Kawasaki 500 EX, but it was a prize that gave me an airlane because my high sales in the work. I was riding for 6 months but I never felt comfortable, maybe because was my first bike and I was scare to fell or go too fast, or because my age (32), usually this kind of bikes are riding for people under 25, and I didnt have friends to ride with.
When I sold the bike, only 3 years ago, (there was parking in the garage for 6 years) only had 400 miles on the clock....

Now, 4 months ago, I started to dream to have a cruiser, I saw it with the dealers and I think that this is the bike style for me. I started to read a lot of this bikes and took information in sites like this forum and his members and definitly they suits my style..... 8)

Ive allways liked the look of the cruiser. to me it just symbolized motorcycles. I like the low seat, the laid back style. just really enjoys it.

1st bike was a cost issue, was a standard, and I liked it, but I like my cruiser more.

Got into m-cycling and licensed and to be cautious, started looking at 250s as a starter/first bike cause I was concerned about my size as a major consideration. Wasn't fussed about style and sat on various 250 cruiser styles plus the bike shop's ninja - prices though,...ouch! Then found a used ninja, looked and sat that one and was sold on it. Still remember that feeling: "Yes!!! This is THE ONE!"

i wanted either a standard, sport, or dual-sport. The 650R is what i found and got financed for first, so i got it. I find myself wishing i got an adventure bike of some sort, but then i know i'd be hurtin for some twistie eating ninja-o's. I guess i'll need to buy another bike
