Verm its not a sports bike, but what youlll find is they tend to be up in torque, I say the 800 is a good learner, though the price is high

oh i know it's not a sportbike. if you look at my post, i was just responding to Lion Lady when she said it's too much for newbies.

im just saying the 800cc vulcan is a newbie bike.

After taking and passing the MSF I purchased a vulcan classic 800 as my first bike.

I consider it to be very forgiving and well balanced, in my opinion a great first bike.

I think the concensus is that a 800cc sport bike would be a big time no no for a first bike but for a cruiser this size is ok (if u read the stickys).

it could be. the ones i posted were bhp ratings and not rwhp.

that 52 is probably the rwhp of the 72 bhp VN 1600.

I think the weight would certainly be a consideration - if she can manhandle it when it needs to be manhandled, the bike may work. For riding, it should do well, but it could be a real bear when it needs to be walked.
