OK, thanks for the replies. As far as the used/new option, I am leaning towards buying new right now ($3000 is very nice, and I can get the color I want 
) and sticking with it for the long haul, but I will have to keep an eye open for used ones when I'm ready to buy. The problem will be I'll just have the course under my belt, and I don't know a lot about motorcycles, so that buying new warranty and at least a year promise of a defect free motorcycle looks pretty tempting.
