Lunchtime strategies
I'm guilty of the $5 a day for lunch thing. I'm like zoo, that's my chilling time.
Running around a vet clinic is hectic enough, worrying about which case I'm helping with, who's in line, when the tests need to be read, which room came first, etc and so forth. I just go, eat, sometimes with friends/coworkers, sometimes just by myself and I mellow and look out the window at the world going by then I'll sit in my car for a bit and listen to some tunes, maybe read, then go back to the frenzy.

Have fun on the open /¦\

Yup that is my thinking exactly. I sit in front of a computer for hours so it is nice to leave the office for a while and not think about work. Most times I go out to lunch with the boss anyways so if I return late, he's my excuse.ZooTech wrote:I eat out daily. It's nice to leave grounds for an hour or so

There's plenty of arguing going on regarding XM vs. Sirius elsewhere on the net. One stop at the Sirius forums and you'll see that's just about all they argue about.camthepyro wrote:Why is it the wrong forum?
Besides, it's up to the individual to decide which is better. I was rootin' for XM in the beginning because I like the AM/FM/XM progression (yeah, I'm weird), but Stern signed with Sirius so here I am.

I make home-made soup most nights, so I just heat up the leftovers and take it into work next morning in a flask. Dead easy! I'd vary it a bit but I like something hot at lunchtime and we have no decent cookers at work, just a microwave - which I wouldn't use. You can vary soup so many ways. Add some rice and finish off with fruit and you've got a decent meal to see you through the day.

i'm on the "not for profit" lunch plan in where i work really really hard and long hours and dont take lunch......
I think if you can find a moderately priced lunch thats actually healthy for you, you'll be in better shape since in many cases, cheap eats arent usually the best for your health.
Whatever you bring to lunch, also take an apple or orange or another fruit....you'd be surprised how much it helps you feel full....

I vary. I pack my lunch about twice a week. Dont know what that costs really because its part of the roughly bi weekly food shopping bill. But I eat out a lot. Even if I just grab a sandwich at wawa i end up spending 8-10$.
Here's last week:
breakfast
m - $4 starbucks coffe
t - nothing
w - bagel with cream cheese, free (work provides)
t - $4 starbucks coffee
f - nothig
lunch
m - packed lunch, cost might have been $3-4
t - WaWa (like 7-11), cost $8
w - packed lunch, cost might have been $3-4
t - Applebees - cost $15 - includes a guinness
f - Some Diner - $14
dinner
m - chinese - $10
t - made soup at home $2
w - nada
t - Houlihans - I think about $20 including beer, but I paid for my moms meal as well so i think cost was $40
f - Iron Hill which is a microbrewery. No idea what the bill was as my gf picked up the tab
yea, i spend a decent amount on food, but I'm not really sweating it.
