Yup, here too. Had big dots of ice all over my car this morning.

Oh well. The sooner it snows instead of just being cold, the sooner I'll be able to replace the riding with skiing.

Yeah, jonnythan, there ARE winter sports, I know. I just can't get excited about them yet! (I downhill ski, x-country ski, and I have the Artic Cat. ) Secretly, I am still wishing it doesn't snow. SHHHH!

I'm hoping to ride some on Saturday. It's going to be 50-ish, but if it's sunny and not windy I'm going!

For some reason the weather centers keep saying with the moderate change in the jet stream NYC will be fairly mild this winter. I certainly hope it's true.

Anyhow when this comes out there will be snow tires made for it:

I'll just wait and see if this is cheaper than a Ural Gear-Up.

My 81 year old mother lives in Queens. I hope you are right - it'll be easier on her!

Just a sign of things to come, I suppose. We're lucky enough in this region that we'll still get some decent riding days in during the Winter. Not so for you guys, I know. Hang in there - Spring will come again.

What's with blaming Canada for your crappy weather? There hasn't been any snow up here so far.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

... aren't you south of the equator? Thought japans winter season would be june-august time :?
Shorts is in Misawa, northern Honshu, 40 degrees north latitude. Just about the same latitude as Beijing. Remember the 1972 winter Olympics in Sapporo? Misawa is only about 100 miles south of Sapporo.

She's got some pics posted around somewhere (in her blog maybe?) of rides around her local countryside - some of it looks strikingly like northeastern North America.

The moisture is a local product, but the frigid cold air is strictly a Canadian export!! Why do you think we call them "Canadian air masses" down here??!!!
