Thanks for all the advice guys. Looks like I may be taking another look at the smaller bikes. I would like something lighter, like MotoF150 said I am used to a lighter dirtbike. I'm planning a trip to a local bike shop to get some time sitting on the bikes. That way I can get a feel for what is going to fit me the best.
Thanks again for the advice.

Deciding on engine size for 1st street bike
XL250, hey? Drop in a Yoshimura close ratio 5-speed trans, Powerol stroker, pick a moderate cam, CB500T carb, and a Rocky down-pipe with reverse cone megaphone. Mount the front fender on a fork brace. Head for the mountains. I rode a XL250 modified like this from Tennessee to Alaska and back, and had no problems maintaining 70mph anywhere it was safe to do so. I did raise the fender to its stock position for the Al-Can part of the trip.
I have no doubt any of the late model 250 cruisers, standards, or sport bikes will have any problems in West Virginia, just don't be afraid of the gearbox.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.
