I've got a typical bifold wallet that I keep either in my back pocket, or in my jacket's inside pocket.

I have a blond buffalo-hide bifold that I move to my front pocket when I'm riding.
It's got a little slip of paper in it explaining how it's made from a piece of hide cut from the center-back of the buffalo, and that it's constructed to be indestructible, so it's guaranteed forever. If it wears out, I call the number and they send me a new one. Fairly surprising considering how thin and supple the leather is.
I bought it at a small craft show about 15 years ago, and I've treated it like it's indestructible (immersed it in salt water, dropped it on asphalt, all sorts of abuse) and basically it's got a little rubbing in the corners where the credit cards bulge through and that's it. I seriously doubt I'll ever need to get it replaced.
Buffalo Trading Company, Box 451, Bigfork, Montana 59911. 406-837-6657. Just about zero internet presence. Pretty sure they're still in business, because a few years ago I replaced my leather magnetic money clip through some random internet shop, and purely by chance the one I got had the same guarantee.
I'd be willing to bet they also sell flat wallets with chains. I'd love to have a jacket made out of this stuff. Maybe I should call and see if they have a catalog...

I`ve been riding for 20yrs. I have a small wallet with a built in money clip and a few slots for cards and such. I carry it in my front pocket. No chance of losing it.

I generally convert all my money into flamable liquids, (petrol, and vodka are good ones) hence removing the need for a wallet

I have a regular old leather wallet. I am supposed to be respectable, a wallet with a chain will not do. That is what my wife tells me anyhow.

I've always used a plain single fold wallet in the hip pocket. I've ridden on and off over the last thirty years and never lost a wallet from a bike yet.
Touch wood....

In Italy, alot of men carry a purse.
I confess, I do too.
It's not overly feminine, it looks like a giant wallet, and I can strap it to my belt or over my shoulder. There's just too much for me to carry in a wallet - especially when riding. I need all of my papers (passport and such) plus my military ID and everything associated w/ the base. In addition, since the base uses American dollars, I must carry around 2 forms of currency, Euros and dollars. Then all the cards (ID and Credit) Plus a book of Gasoline ration coupons and the prepaid Highway toll cards ...
I didn't like it at first, but now it's really working out for me, cuz I can put a small planner in there, along w/ checkbook, notepad and a pen, and really stay organized, always have a pen when I need one, etc ... but yeah it's still a purse.

the purse snatchers over there must have to be very selective when targeting a victim.over here they just hit the old grannys without fear of a good beating.

Well actually, Naples is one of the premier spots in the world for pickpockets. They are very creative over here, but as a man, you are alot better off w/ a purse of some kind. You wallet is a much easier target than a leather purse w/ a strap across the chest. Leather is better than cloth also, because a pickpocket can slash a cloth or canvas purse w/ a razor and take the contents from the bottom without your knowledge. There are also scooter thieves - they come up behind you on a scooter and grab the purse and cut the straps before you can react. (That's why you always carry the purse on the side opposite the street.)
I often keep a packet of tissues in my back pocket when I'm downtown and often have the tissues hit my head later on ... Why? Because the pickpocket has taken them and realizes it's not a fat wallet, so they throw it at you!!
