* So: In your expressed opinion: UM Motorcycles, are just as good as any other motorcylce, sold here in the states?... Is that what your saying?....

All of them apart from Cagiva are in a different league to the Hyosungs. I like the Hyosung, I think you get plenty of bang for your buck and they are a good motorbike.

* So" Are your saying that these brands are more high end?.... [In price] That if your wanting a good "budget " motorcycle, the UM's are better?.. {Since one could not afford the above mentioned ones]

What you are listing here though are thoroughbreds, there are few Amercian or Japanese bikes i'd even consider over an Augsta/Benelli/KTM if I had an unlimited budget and just one bike to spend it on.

* Here is a image of a moto morini COSARO: [img][http://www.morini.dk/Motorcykler/Morini ... nt_350.jpg[/img]Not that i'm trying to me argumentative,, but are you saying the looks of this bike aren't better looking?.... I'm somewhat confused... I wouldn't buy it: {Due to it not being released here in the states yet, and the high price tag that come with it] But are you saying that the looks of it, just aren't appealing?.....

To give you an idea the Hyosung 650 is half the Price of Moto Morini's on release over here and the picture is no better with the other manufacturers you mention...

WHY?....

#12 Unread post by syndicate.01 »

I'll Tell you why: Because they say... But that doesn't mean any of us will buy the ------things.... You, me: We aren't stupid: I would imagine the only ones wohm buy them are the ones with money to burn... I wonder if that at is the reason why so many of us buy the least expensive bikes, as the ones from italy and other countries carry such a high price tag.... No wonder they don't have much dealership here in the state, as the -------- things are just too expensive.... They can KEEP IT....HUH?....

[looks up the specs]

If anything, MV Augusta F4-1000S actually seems inferior to the gixxer. The engine is weaker (166HP@12700RPM vs. 178HP@12000RPM) and the bike is heavier (423lbs vs. 379lbs). Are people so vain that they are willing to pay double the price for an inferior bike simply because of the label? Wait, I think I know the answer to that question...

There are Augustas I would buy and ride the wheels off if I had the money.

For a start you will NEVER know if the performance is inferior - because the levels at which such a comparison can be made just are not safe on the streets.

So why would I stress it. If you haven't figured it out by now I will tell you - bikes are bought with heart and genetailia - we all like to pretend that we used our heads when buying the bike but at the end of the day it almost always comes down to how the bike makes you feel - Harleys don't have world stopping performance but people buy them because of how they look, how they sound and how they make them feel - despit the price tag.

The Hyosung's are good bikes, notice how Hyosungs GTS650 looks like the Suzuki SV650? Well that isnt a coincidence.

Ferrari would likely still perform better than a Corvette.
However, as far as I can tell, MV Augusta F4-1000S is actually inferiour to GSX-R 1000, and yet it costs nearly double.

No. Z06 is a better performing car than a F430. Though the F430 is a LOT better to live with (comfort as well as performance; soft, suple everything, whereas the vette is uncomfortable). The performance gain the Z06 has over the F430 is minimal, the cost, half. What one would I rather have? The F430, obviously. What one am i more likely to get? The vette. Same with ZX-10R vs MVA F41000. I'm more likely to own the ZX-10R, but I'd prefer the F4 1000. Besides, the F41000 falls about mid-pack when it comes to the liter bikes. It's no slouch, and it does it looking good. REAL good.
DAMMIT GEOFF! I was going to say the exact same thing about the Z06, which I believe puts out like 600hp, as opposed to most ferraris which put out less then 500 I believe.
