Get on craigslist, limit your search to your price range, and look until you find something you like.

Listen kid, limiting your bike search based on the headlight style is stupid. There is no other word for it.

This is your first bike, not your last. Get something that is easy to learn on, even if you don't care for what it looks like. You will have plenty of time to buy a bike you *really* want once you have the skills not to kill yourself.

The ninja 250 is a proven, and reliable, beginner bike. If you don't like the headlights, change them aftermarket... be creative.

You are lucky that lifan isn't legal in California... They are crap. They start to fall apart immediately, none of them are even set up correctly, and they use an engine from the 50's. You would spend more time trying to get that thing working than riding.

Absolutly listen to what he has to say, he is right on the money. And I think one of the best looking bikes is his 84 vfr... best color combo for that generation too!

Anyways, its not going to be your last bike. Get something to learn on... Ride it like you own it, and unless it has to deal with saftey, don't listen to other peoples opinions about you or your bike. When you get experience and skill, then shoot for the sexiest bikes out there.

BTW, I think the ninja 250 looks ALOT better in person than it does on a computer. Plus, things will grow on you. Heck, even my bikes looks grew on me. I bought it for what it was, not what it looked like.
