If you use the WD40 from the beggining, the stickers will come off all in one piece. This has worked for me, just before I painted the tank, so I'm not sure of the long term effects of WD40 on the paint......

I've never tried it on a bike, but for the impossible to remove stickers they sometimes put on CD covers I use some paint thinner called "turpenoid natural". Sounds kind of fruity, but it's good stuff. I got it because it's non-toxic, and I have a habit of reshaping brushes with my mouth when painting. It won't eat plastic, and even though it's paint thinner it's mild enough that I'd trust the stuff on my bike. Just put it on a cloth and rub the sticker until it's gone, then wipe the spot with a wet rag and it looks like the sticker was never there.

WD won't hurt most paint. Flat(matt) colors may disolve though. Many dealers wipe the bikes in the service bays down with WD to clean/shine them. Cheap and easy shine for them to look better to the customer with. Every bicycle shop does it, too.

I used blumagic chrome/mag wheel polish. It takes just about anything off your muffler and makes it look VERY nice.

Thansk for all your sugestions went the the classice hairdryer method work well except on swingarw where it took be about an hour to remove the sitcker
