Bah, first gen game systems always have a bunch of bugs in them that weren't worked out.
Remember PS2's overheating? Or X-boxes what would have their HD's die? All kinds of fun stuff happens.
You're better waiting a couple of months for someone to find the problems for you.

Huh? No way I would buy a game system for more than $100. I just want to resell it

I thought about buying a few, then reselling them. But I didn't have the money to invest in the initial purchase. And I doubt I'll buy myself another console for a long time, they cost too much money, and they get boring relatively fast.

My plan is to charge one to the credit card. Keep the receipt, list it on ebay for 7 days with a reserve amount of the initial purchase price. If it sells above what I paid, great! If not, don't relist the auction and return to the store within their 30 day return policy. Can't lose
The real trick is how to not let the wife find out until I've got the cash to show my success

I'm not even married, and my girlfriend yelled at me for spending $250 on a pretty new LCD monitor, with my first paycheck from my new job. I thought she would change her mind when she saw how beautiful it was, but she just called me a dork, then proceeded to nag me about my spending practices, lol.

Lucky. I've wanted a LCD for 3 years! Prices still aren't under $100 for a 19 inch so I havent taken the plunge. Either they get cheaper or my current monitor breaks. Course what can I do if the "cat" knocks it on the floor? Act of God, I say.

We laughed at the idiots last time they paid for Xbox360s. This year we decided to sell to them. PS3s came out last week here, DH and a friend went to go get em but they were sold out already.
As for feeling bad about making money by reselling - not at all (though we did recognize the question at hand). If there are idiots enough that will pay me 6 times as much to buy the product I JUST PURCHASED for retail price, I will accept that transaction.
Its amazing the "I need it now!" factor.
With tha said, anyone remember when the Nintendo costs "too much" at $150 and your mom wouldn't buy it for you - had to wait until christmas???? I swear we were the last kids in the world to have a Nintendo.
