I have an icon (around $200). It fits great, is comfortable, and has good airflow.

Walmart has helmets for 80 bucks.

buy something like a HJC, they offer quality helmets for not too expensive. DONT buy an arai or shoei or those racing helmets.. They are just lighter and louder.. more suited for the track.

Scorpions are nice helmets. The one I bought was like $140.

Actually, you should buy what fits, end of story. If it cost $100 or $900, as long as it's DOT approved and fits like described in the Helmet sticky....

Dennis Kirk has some really good prices on helmets... check them out. If you can find the right size and color you want... you will get an awesome deal on a helmet. They even have z1r strike helmets for 35 bucks...

NEVER buy a helmet on ebay. Just not worth the savings in $$ to risk your gray matter on a 'bargain' helmet. Not even 'new in the box.'

You have no idea if the box has been dropped or if the helmet was stored in a warehouse in Death Valley and subject to 120 degree+ heat (which, by the way will dignificantly degrade the protective crash padding). If you're looking for a 'back up' emergency only helmet, then go ahead and take a chance, but there is no way, I'd risk it for my everyday riding.

For your first helmet, print out the helmet fit guide and go into a shop and try on. If you find a helmet that fits, BUY IT THERE. You can then do the rest of your shopping online.
