I tried it because an IT guy I know recommended it. It is supposed to be more secure. It was awful.

I didn't have any real problems with 6, either, and I liked the 6 tool bar better than the 7.

I'm trying the Firefox at the moment.

I couldn't deploy 7 at my workplace because *three* of our main mission critical apps literally no longer work when it is installed.

Everyone there loves Firefox though.

So far...so good. I'm still figuring out a few things. I just finally figured out how the tabs work. They work great.

A couple things about tabs:

Clicking a link while holding Ctrl will open the link in a new tab.
Clicking a link with the scroll wheel on your mouse also opens the link in a new tab.

Ctrl+T opens a new tab and immediately switches you to that tab. You can also put a "New Tab" button on the toolbar by right clicking the toolbar and clicking Customize.

Clicking a link while holding Shift will open the link in a new window.

There's a setting in Options to change how links from other applications open. I think that by default Firefox opens links from other applications in a new tab in the current window. I changed that option so it opens links in a new browser window.

Netscape 7.1!

Sure, it's a bit old, but it still works the best for me. Though plug-ins can be a pain. I have IE7 set as my backup, it doesnt seem any slower than IE6 to me. The IE7 layout is starting to grow on me too.

ie 7 is incompatible with damn near everything. Any tech guy who told you to use it... I'll refrain

I like opera but it doesn't work with my work web applications very well.

As a home browser, if your pc is beefy enough to handle the behemoth of a program, it should be pretty good, due to the enhanced security in it.

As a work browser? No..... just no

I've had to repair two computers here at school because classmates installed IE 7 on their laptops. And are now getting totally random lockups and blue screens of death.

Firefox forever!

There are a lot of extensions and plug ins and themes you can get for Firefox... go check them out and see what you might like.
